Exquisite Events at Sherwood Country Club – October 18th, 150 guests

October 18th, 2009

[gallery link="file"] Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, California has recently opened its gates to the public as a venue for weddings and private events. After meeting with Michelle Weston, Director of Catering at Sherwood, Nikki decided to invite members of the local South Asian community to a night of fine dining and music and the Country Club. She was on the lookout for an up and coming event location and Michelle was excited to debut Sherwood as a new venue to the South Asian community especially because for nineteen years it has been not been open to non-members to book events such as weddings. The romantic setting of the private waterfall, ages old oak trees set in front of a backdrop of thousands of roses make it an exquisite setting for an exquisite event! After a lovely cocktail hour on the patio with live music, specialty drinks, and gorgeous belly dancers, the guests were invited into the ballroom for a sumptuous dining experience. Music was playing in the background as the guests walked in to the room to be blown away by the opulent decor. The theme’s inspiration came from French Regency blending in with Sherwood’s colonial architectural details. Custom linens were created in deep reds, merlots, and saffron colors. The tables were set to the nines with china, stemware, and flower arrangements complimenting the theme. The lighting enhanced the atmosphere even more with stunning shades of reds and ambers. • #Repost @archdigest - #JacquesArpels was inspired by the clover shapes in architecture inspiring him to design his famous Alhambra collection, which is also our inspiration for one of our upcoming events! #inspirationeverywhere #designinspiration #eventdesign #alhambra #moorisharchitecture #vancleefarpels ・・・
Half a century ago, inspired by the decorative patterns Jacques Arpels observed on his travels, @vancleefarpels launched Alhambra—a clover-shaped gold medallion resembling a Moorish quatrefoil. “As an architectural element, it appears in almost every culture,” says Van Cleef & Arpels’s current president and CEO, Nicolas Bos. “In jewelry, it’s just as adaptable.” Today the French luxury brand remains captivated by the motif, having reimagined it in myriad styles and stones. This past May, to mark the Alhambra collection’s 50th anniversary, Van Cleef launched nine new pieces with a party at the 16th-century El Badi Palace in Marrakech. While celebrating with them, AD found a few more not-to-miss sights in Marrakech, including the 14th-century Islamic college Ben Youssef Madrasa pictured here.
