Deo Singh and Poonam Khangura - Sikh & West Indian Documentary Ceremony from Reprinted from Robles Video Blog On November 27, 2009, Deo Singh and Poonam Khangura held their wedding celebrations at the Universal Hilton. They wanted to share their special ceremony memories with all their guest, so we created a same-day edit in 4 hours. The highlight was played at their reception as the guest entered the ballroom. We arrive at 7:00 am to cover the bride preparation coverage. It didn't take much to make her into a stunning bride! She wore a brilliant red lehnga, encrusted with colorful crystals and detailed stitching. Since the bride is Punjabi, they held a traditional Sikh ceremony in the morning. Nikki Khan, from Exquisite Events, did an amazing job with the decor. The canopy & aisle was lavished with large bundles of red roses & candles. The groom arrived on a white horse for his baraat, with a band playing West Indian music. The bride's family welcomed the groom's side with a milni ceremony (exchange of garlands). After the ceremony, all the guest were ushered out to the lobby area for breakfast. The second ceremony was held at 1:30 pm in the next ballroom. Because Deo is from West India, so it was only fitting that they would have a Hindu ceremony in the afternoon. Both ceremonies concluded by 4:00 pm, and we started working on the highlights. The bride chose "Agar Tum Mil Jao" as one of the songs for the highlights, it's one of her favorites, and I chose "Tere Ore", her first dance song (the highlights were played on two 10.5' x 14' Fastfold screens). Taimur and Sana’s Dholki, June 5th. 2010

June 14th, 2010

On June 5th, a dholki was hosted for Taimur and Sana who will be getting married in Houston, TX in July. The event was at the Calabasas community center and the space....the community center rec room. The party was for about 100 people and we had to figure out how to get enough seating in the room and yet make it beautiful and interesting. The first thing we wanted to do was cover the walls and the best way to do so is to use textured lighting patterns. Lighting is such an effective way to add warmth to a room and is sometimes more cost effective as opposed to draping an entire room. With the tables, we decided to abandon the rounds and go for squares and rectangles and put lots of candles and little clusters of flowers everywhere. We also had a few low tables and cushions on the ground to allow the ladies to sit down during the actual dholki. This party was a lot of fun and the couple had a great time!

  • #Repost @archdigest - #JacquesArpels was inspired by the clover shapes in architecture inspiring him to design his famous Alhambra collection, which is also our inspiration for one of our upcoming events! #inspirationeverywhere #designinspiration #eventdesign #alhambra #moorisharchitecture #vancleefarpels ・・・
Half a century ago, inspired by the decorative patterns Jacques Arpels observed on his travels, @vancleefarpels launched Alhambra—a clover-shaped gold medallion resembling a Moorish quatrefoil. “As an architectural element, it appears in almost every culture,” says Van Cleef & Arpels’s current president and CEO, Nicolas Bos. “In jewelry, it’s just as adaptable.” Today the French luxury brand remains captivated by the motif, having reimagined it in myriad styles and stones. This past May, to mark the Alhambra collection’s 50th anniversary, Van Cleef launched nine new pieces with a party at the 16th-century El Badi Palace in Marrakech. While celebrating with them, AD found a few more not-to-miss sights in Marrakech, including the 14th-century Islamic college Ben Youssef Madrasa pictured here.
