A Grand Reception for 700

June 6th, 2016

June 3rd, 2016 Yasmin and Aleem are such a sweet and loving couple. Being around them, one can instantly notice the love and respect they have for eachother! Their wedding had beautiful Muslim traditions that were witnessed by 700 guests at the Long Beach Hyatt Hotel. When designing the event, we took inspiration from the invitation which was a beautiful aubergine and gold so we decided to bring in those hues throughout the entire evening. The cocktail hour was on the lower level where there was an array of delicious appetizers and mocktails for guests to enjoy. After cocktail hour, we escorted all the guests into the main ballroom where we draped the room and made the stage the focal point. Wildflower Linen made the most stunning custom couture linen for the sweetheart and cake tables and the cake was not only gorgeous, but tasted incredibly delicious, as well! It was such a fun wedding starting out with a lively performance by middle eastern singers that set the tone for the evening. Guests enjoyed Middle Eastern and Indian food, took photos in the photobooth, and danced the night away. Most importantly, the couple had a great time and got to unwind in a limo ride at the end of the night. Congratulations to Yasmin and Aleem!

The Indoor Garden

June 5th, 2016

May 27th, 2016 This Exquisite couple could not have been more sweet or fun to plan a wedding for; you can almost see their personalities jump out of the pictures! Sanjay and Nesha’s wedding ceremony and reception were held at the Four Seasons Westlake Village 700 guests. They wanted an elegant, sophisticated event that would compliment the fun energy their friends and families had. We decided to create an indoor garden playing off the colors of the ballroom so we draped the room in ivory with a beautiful sea green valance and all the round tables had matching sea green linen. The 2 family tables on either side of the dance floor were 24? long mirrored tables that added interest in the room. For the flowers, we decided to go with statement pieces since the space is so large. The main piece was the band stage backdrop which was a wall of wisteria with ornate gold mirrors. On a few of the tables in the room, we had huge magnolia trees which made it feel as if you were dining under a tree and brought the eye up as you walked into the ballroom. Some tables had a variety of tall arrangements while others had low clusters of tulips, roses, and hydrangea. The idea was to make it look like a lit up garden at night. The band kept everyone on their feet and even managed to bring the couple and friends onto the stage. Fond memories of this wedding and beautiful couple!

An Intimate Affair

June 5th, 2016

May 20th, 2016 We love to do large weddings but it is also so nice to be able to do an intimate reception for 150 guests. Nawal and Bilal were such a fun couple and they wanted their wedding to be romantic and elegant. The design inspiration came from the existing Bay windows in the ballroom. That was the perfect place to put the couple’s stage and make it the focal point in the room so we designed a beautiful floral arch that go over the couple as they sat on stage to take pictures. . The colors were golds and ivories and in order to get a really cozy, intimate feel we had to carpet the ballroom which was completely necessary, as you can see. The idea was to make the space look as if you were entering someone’s home and sitting for dinner in their living room. There were beautiful Arab traditions throughout the entire evening and the dance floor was never empty. It was an Exquisite occasion :)

Half a century ago, inspired by the decorative patterns Jacques Arpels observed on his travels, @vancleefarpels launched Alhambra—a clover-shaped gold medallion resembling a Moorish quatrefoil. “As an architectural element, it appears in almost every culture,” says Van Cleef & Arpels’s current president and CEO, Nicolas Bos. “In jewelry, it’s just as adaptable.” Today the French luxury brand remains captivated by the motif, having reimagined it in myriad styles and stones. This past May, to mark the Alhambra collection’s 50th anniversary, Van Cleef launched nine new pieces with a party at the 16th-century El Badi Palace in Marrakech. While celebrating with them, AD found a few more not-to-miss sights in Marrakech, including the 14th-century Islamic college Ben Youssef Madrasa pictured here.
