Planners Xtraordinaire 2017

When the invitation came to speak at Planners Xtraordinaire, a conference on Luxury weddings and events, Nikki did not hesitate. Icing on the cake was that the event was taking place in Dubai. The congress started on October 3rd with a cocktail party to kick off with two days dedicated to speakers and panelists.

Nikki reached Dubai on the evening of October 2nd and was met with the driver who dropped her off to the hotel. Palazzo Versace Hotel is a new property and is located in the newer part of Dubai.

Next morning she met up with two friends who live in Dubai and had an insightful discussion about life in Dubai.

After checking out the hotel it was time for a quick nap and then get ready for the cocktail party. The group was picked up and taken to Palace Hotel where the party was held outside on the terraces surrounded by Dubai skyline and in front of the famous Burj Khalifa. The water show was spectacular and the tall buildings awe inspiring. The evening was all about saying hello to old friends, make new friends, enjoy great food, entertainment and city views.

Next morning conference was kicked off with Nikki’s Friend Diann Valentine who spoke about “What is Luxury". With great panels and speakers, the conference was thought provoking and interesting.
Day one of the conference with Frieha Altaf who represented Pakistan.

Evening was our gala dinner at the Cavali Club which was very enjoyable and impressive band from Monaco who kept the guests on their feet.

Final morning of conference started with the panel which Nikki was a part of. The moderator did a fantastic job of asking relevant and intelligent questions and the conference ended with Toni Breiss’s talk.

Lunch was as always enjoyed by all with foods from various parts of the globe. A glimpse of our international table at lunch with friends from Italy, Pakistan, Ireland, Brazil and USA!

Nikki and another speaker and friend at the conference decided to hire a driver and guide to venture to Old Dubai and visit the Souk. Needless to say it was a very interesting experience. That night after the souk was a visit to Dubai Mall which puts every Mall to shame. The sheer size and variety of shops, restaurants etc is over whelming. Next morning on her last day she ventured out to Abu Dhabi to see the Grand Mosque and was awe struck by the architecture and sheer beauty of the structure.

Next day was early morning flight back to LA with lovely memories of Dubai and the amazing group of professionals from Q and A who had organized the Congress. Kudos to the entire group for doing a great job.
