Fashion Inspirations

July 30th, 2014

If you know Nikki and Madiha, you know that a lot of their inspiration comes from fashion; anything from set backdrops, shoes, textures and patterns in fabric, and color.  Here are some images from 2013-14 fashion shows that have incorporated a fusion of design and culture...and we are OBSESSED! Hope you enjoy these as much as we do!

Tanya and Rahim Wedding Reception | Four Seasons Westlake Village

July 23rd, 2014

The reception was a two-day setup and once the carpet and drapes were done, the room was suddenly transformed.  The layout called for all shapes of tables with a stunning head table in black and white as the first visual.  The stage where the couple was going to reside for the first few minutes was again done to the nines with chandeliers, French style furniture and large mirrors in black frames.  The flowers and candles heightened the drama and the room looked magnificent.  The cake table was elegant with the black vintage lace that adorned the tables wrapped around the tiers as well.

Tanya and Rahim Mehndi and Pakistani Wedding

July 16th, 2014

Our young and lovely couple booked us for their wedding about a year ago as they were planning to hold it in August of 2014.  Along the way they both decided the wait was too long and moved the date to December of last year.   Since they had signed the contract with Four Seasons Westlake for August 2014, it was a matter of approaching the hotel to find out if the new date after Christmas was indeed available.  As luck would have it, the hotel was more than happy to accommodate their wish to get married at their preferred date.   Once the new date was established, Nikki and Madiha went to work full force. The bride had a vision about her mehndi party and wedding ceremony.  For the mehndi she wanted something simple and elegant infused with color and ethnic in nature. Mehndi Bride Entrance Mehndi Decor Mehndi Bride and Groom Bride and Groom Mehndi Beautful Bride Mehndi Bridal Henna | Mehndi After a night filled with fun and festivities bride and her family checked in the hotel late Friday night. Tanya, our bride, wanted her ceremony to have a deep red color and for the reception she described red, black, and white.  Nikki knew the carpet in the room would really fight the décor so presented the idea to the parents to carpet and drape the room (which will be revealed in next week's blog). The ceremony setup could not start on the waterfall lawn due to an event at Hamptons Restaurant that was going to conclude at 1:00 p.m.  Our team was on standby and luckily had finished the lighting on the lawn the night before.  At 1:00 p.m., our rental team moved in and set the stage for the ceremony and the harpist.  Members of the floral team moved in from the ballroom to the lawn to set up the stage and aisle and by 3:30 p.m., we were ready to greet the guests with 4:00 p.m. call time. Persian and Pakistani Wedding at the Millennium Biltmore

July 9th, 2014

After the henna event, Madiha and Nikki headed for the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in LA at 2 a.m., rested a little and because the client had booked all four ballrooms, the event install began at 6 a.m. sharp. After catching about two hours of sleep, Nikki and Madiha were downstairs with Madiha overseeing setup in the Gold and Emerald Ballrooms and Nikki at Crystal and Tiffany which were to be revealed at the end of night for desserts and cappuccino. Guests were expected at 3:30 p.m. for Sofreh (Persian Wedding Ceremony) in the Gold Room which was designed to have soft colors with gold overtones. Our goal was to be finished preparing these two rooms by 1 p.m., so we had several teams such as lighting, rentals, and florists all working side by side. Guests were going to be treated to Persian Tea and cookies upon arrival with a lady attendant wearing authentic attire. We created a stage for the traditional tea station. Gold chivaris were set in a semi circle fashion with an ivory custom runner going through the middle. Huge flowers in the existing urns embellished the beginning of the aisle. The Sofreh stage looked beautiful and with soft amber lighting and a harpist playing, the room looked elegant. Sofreh Wedding Ceremony Stage Our beautiful bride was dressed in a stunning custom white gown per Persian tradition and looked radiant. Exquisite Events Beautiful Bride Millennium Biltmore The handsome groom was fitted in custom Tom Ford and the couple had their first look before the ceremony as the groom was lead outside with his brothers to see his lovely bride. Groom and Groomsmen First Look3 Bride and Groom First Look The ceremony started at 4 p.m. sharp and when the bride walked down the aisle with her father, all eyes were on her. She also surprised her in-laws by saying something in Urdu, Pakistan’s native tongue, that she had learned from Nikki. Here Comes the Bride Sofreh Ceremony I Do Wedding Ceremony Guests moved to the Emerald Room after the ceremony and the room was fittingly decorated in emerald green linens. The showstopper was a custom 90??? round table bearing vintage lace linen from Wildflower with hand sewn pearls bearing escort cards. The table had a stunning centerpiece in deep reds in an urn that sat atop a pedestal. There was a music trio playing on a small riser and bars were set along the back wall to create a nice flow for the guests. Guests were treated to tray passed hors d'oeuvres and fruit and cheese stations and spent a little over an hour in the Emerald Room.   Escort Card Table Our inspiration for the Crystal room was soft blush color palette and decadence. With linens in vintage lace and charmeuse underlays and chair covers in three different styles and flowers in soft blushes, ivory, gold and champagne, it looked spectacular. Biltmore Hotel Wedding We also had two large king tables seating 34 guests for Bride’s and Groom’s families that were dressed to the nines with place cards and special names that bride had assigned to these tables and the sweetheart table. Guests of Honor Table Chair Covers The last thing was the hotel placing all the rented china, chargers, stemware and flatware and the tables were a vision. The client had also provided custom gold fabric boxes with special tea for the favors which completed the tables. Custom Gold Gift Box Our couple wanted to name each table with Love names and the table names, menus and escort cards were a piece of art. The biggest joy in the room for Nikki was to create a stage for the couple. She designed the large stage with three oversized mirrors in gold frame and hung chandeliers on shepherds hooks. On either side of stage were two very large urns overflowing with flowers. Custom linens were created for both the sweetheart table and cake table, which sat on the stage. The stage was also dressed with a large sofa in blush, two side chairs and vintage glass coffee end tables bearing beautiful flowers. The bride had chosen her table name to be “ Ishq,??? which in Arabic script means passion. 0898 Bride Groom Sweetheart Table Stage Our absolute deadline was to have the Crystal ballroom finished by 4 p.m. as the families wanted to take photos on the stage and also see the ballroom before any of the guests. We were able to have it all done just in time for them to stop by for photos as well as the couple taking several shots on the stage. Family Bride and Groom Bride and Groom and Family Bride and Groom Photo Fairy Tale Couple At 7 p.m., Exquisite Events team was ready to greet the guests and guide them to their seats at the ballroom entrance. Ballroom dancers were on the dance floor ready to start performing at 7 pm. The band was staged on the upper balcony and the vibe was classic Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Miles Davis for the music. Both a Persian and an Indian DJ were hired to pay homage to both the cultures staged on the opposite balcony from the band. Guests were enthralled with the sound of the band and the beautiful ballroom dancers as they took their seats. The couple made their entrance and went straight to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife to a Persian song that the bride had chosen. First Dance Wedding Cake Cake Cutting After the first dance and cake cutting, the couple made a discreet exit to change into full Pakistani attire. Bride's Pakistani Wardrobe Groom's Wardrobe Persian Bride Pakistani Groom Exquisite Couple In the meantime, guests dined on a scrumptious four course meal with ballroom dancers entertaining them in different styles. Both the fathers also made welcome toasts and speeches. After about an hour, the couple made a royal entrance along with family members and dhol players. It truly made for a spectacular sight! This time the bride and groom looked like royalty with the bride wearing a custom creation by a famous Pakistani designer and the groom dressed in a custom Sherwan, shoes and head piece. When the procession walked in, guests were speechless and then got into the mood and amidst thunderous applause, couple was escorted on the stage. During this time, Nikki was working in the adjoining room for reveal at 10 p.m. The room was dressed in Tiffany blue with the focal point being a decadent fruit and nut station on a 90??? round table which sat underneath a cabana. When guests walked in, they were treated to fresh donuts, mini pastries, a candy bar and wedding cake along with cappuccino and espressos. A Mehndi to Remember at the Ebell Club Los Angeles

July 2nd, 2014

This was one of our favorite events!  The mother of the groom is a dear friend of Nikki's and when she called her to give her the good news of her son's engagement, Nikki was overjoyed at the prospect of working with her.  Another exciting component of the wedding was that the bride was from Iran and the groom from Pakistan.  Since the families wanted to honor both of their traditions, it was a very involved and exciting event.  The mehndi event is a huge pre wedding event in Pakistan and the groom's mother wanted to host that event in the true tradition of inviting about 500 family and friends to this colorful and festive evening. More than 100 guests flew from all parts of the world to attend the multi day festivities.  Because the mehndi is not done in Persian culture, it was another reason to treat the bride's family to a typical mehndi event from Pakistan. Wilshire Ebell Mehndi Party by Exquisite Events The mehndi was held at the stunning Ebell Club of Los Angeles, which was built for, and still is, the home of the Ebell Club, a social and philanthropic women's club founded in the late 1880s. The clubhouse was built in 1927 by the women of The Ebell, and remains their beautiful home to this day and is also used as a venue for many weddings and social events.  Our decor inspiration was to really create a fun and festive environment for the couple, families and friends.  The building was lit up beautifully...
