Madiha’s Top Beauty & Makeup Products

January 27th, 2017

Hi Everyone!

For today's blog, I am going to talk about some beauty and makeup products that I use. I have very dry skin and I noticed that during my pregnancy it got event more dry so I am sharing a few of my favorite products that I have used to combat that along with some makeup products that are my essentials.

1-19 Products
1. Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter Lotion, 2. Rita Hazan Root Concealer Spray, 3. Shisedo Ulitmate Sun Protector, 4. Per-fekt Body Perfection Gel, 5. Freeman Beauty Infusion Sheet Mask, 6. Neutrogena Makeup Wipes, 7. Tatcha, 8. Huda Beauty Lashes & Ardel Lashes, 9. Amore Pacific Cleansing Oil, 10. Beauty Blender, 11. Josie Maran Light Argan Oil, 12. Liquid Lipsticks (Marc Jacobs, Kat Von D, Anastasia), 13. Anastasia Brow Whiz Pencil, 14. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, 15. Benefit Porefessional Face Primer, 16. Urban Decay Naked Concealer, 17. Mario Badescu Rosewater Facial Spray, 18. Makeup Forever HD Foundation Stick, 19. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation

Skin care is extremely important to me, especially as I get older I am noticing a lot of changes in my skin. If you know me, you already know that I LOVE all Tatcha products! My facialist only uses Tatcha products and it has truly made a difference in my skin. My nightly routine is to use all three of these products and in the morning I can tell that my skin has absorbed all the moisture and feels more plump. I also use the dewy skin mist (pictured on the right) as a makeup setter.

Other Products

These products are a few staples that I use pretty much daily. I was first introduced to sheet masks by a friend of mind who brought a few back from a trip overseas and OMG! They are so may look like a character out of a horror movie when you put it on but it’s a small price to pay for the results. You can get them for any skin problem that you want to tackle. I usually put one on right before bed. The Shisedo sunscreen is one I have been using for a few years and I really like it because it’s lightweight and doesn’t feel like you are wearing a mask. I also use the Mario Badescu facial spray after I have moisturized and to set my makeup, as well. It smells so good!

Soap Glory
I just discovered this Soap & Glory lotion at Target and it is so moisturizing. Again, I have super dry skin and this lotion has ingredients like Shea Butter and Aloe Vera which are really good for that. It also smells like heaven! So the Per-fekt body gel is an interesting product and I didn’t take to it the first time I tried it because it felt like it was a little too much work for me, but I stuck with it and I LOVE it now. I use it if I am wearing a dress or an outfit where my legs are exposed and it basically evens out and covers any scars I may have while also making them tan. Great combination :)

Chanel Make Up Forever

These are definitely my holy grail every day makeup products. The Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel is an incredible way to bronze up your face after foundation just to give it a glow. It’s a little on the pricier side but a little goes a long way. I have had mine for over a year and I just recently hit the bottom of the container. I love liquid lipsticks but some of the formulas can be super drying. Marc Jacobs just came out with a beautiful line of liquid lip crème. I believe there are about 6 shades and they feel more like a satin lipstick texture. I also love Anastasia Liquid Lipsticks. I feel like she was the first one to come up with the liquid lipstick concept? Fact check me if I’m wrong but I do love them. I also use her Brow Whiz pencil to fill in brows. I remember going to her salon 13 years ago to get my brows down for my wedding and being in awe back then and she has come so far-Bravo! I just discovered the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. I used to get eyelash extensions and found that I had no lashes or sparse lashes after a while so I have been looking for a mascara that gives me volume and the illusion that I have lashes and this is it-I swear by it!

Marc Jacobs

I would love to hear what some of your favorite products and beauty regimes are!

Hope you have an Exquisite Week!

The Special Event Leadership Luncheon 2017

January 20th, 2017

I had the pleasure of meeting William Miller in Cancun at a speaking engagement a few years ago. A few months ago I got an email and phone call from him asking me to speak at Leadership Luncheon in Long Beach for The Special Event. This is the industry leading organization and their annual event is held every year in January with inspiring speakers, seminars and educational sessions. This year TSE was taking place in Long Beach. William and his team did a superb job amidst challenges with rain and moving the entire event indoors and yet making it look seamless. Tables were draped in Pantone green and paired with chameleon chairs and the look was fresh and understated.

I was honored to be part of this panel with Sharon Sacks, Hannah An, Tiffany Chalk and Andre Wells. It was a thought provoking and engaging session and the moderator Brian K. Williams did a tremendous job of asking questions. A delicious lunch was served followed by the panel.

It is always a pleasure to speak at these industry engagements and kudos to the entire leadership luncheon committee for doing a great job.

A Romantic Reception

January 6th, 2017

This is our first blog of the New Year and we are excited to start 2017 with you!

Today we are sharing our last wedding of 2016. This could not have been a sweeter family to work with. They wanted a simple and elegant reception for 250 guests because the couple had gotten married a month prior with a ceremony and small reception for close family and friends.

In designing the reception, we wanted to keep with the color scheme of the ballroom and use reds and golds for a very romantic feel with candles and warm lighting. Our focal point was the stage where we placed 2 large mirrors and chandeliers and a beautiful lounge vignette for the couple to sit on as they made their Grand Entrance and took pictures with family.

The head table for 12 featured beautiful linen from Wildflower Linen with the Sasha Gold Chair sleeves from Nikki's designer series collection and the flowers were in tones of reds with tall and short arrangements on the tables to add depth and texture to the room. Lots of candles and beautiful lighting completed the look of the room and along with a sitar player who was played everything from classical Indian music to the latest top 40 hits from Coldplay, Beyonce, etc.

This was such a great party to end 2016! Look forward to sharing our 2017 Exquisite Events with you!

Thank you to our wonderful partners!
