Dali Inspired 60th Birthday Celebration

We had the honor of planning an epic 60th birthday celebration for a client. This was by far the most exciting, complexed and involved event of our career and took hundreds of hours, countless meetings and phone calls. The inspiration of the event was Salvador Dali as the client loved surrealism and specifically Dali. Our client wanted to provide the guests with unmatched experience and it turned out to be just that and more.

Upon arrival, guests were greeted by Dietrich Dames and Dapper Gentlemen. The front entrance was hedged off and the neon sign “Dali’s Den of Delight" aroused curiosity. Then a violinist was atop the marble staircase wearing a red gown with dramatic train that cascaded down the stairs. Two dapper gentlemen were standing outside the multi-layered drapery entrance to usher guests in the foyer. Cocktail hour was a sensory overload with two custom walls painted in gold with medallions and cut outs where white gloves hands were exposed carrying champagne flutes to serve the guests.

There were food station installations from hanging chickens with deviled eggs underneath, to pasta wall and gezpacho station where servers dressed in yellow rain coats and boots served gezpacho from watering cans. In another corner was an ice cream cart bearing tray of spicy tuna cones.

Two girls dressed in Cuban attire passed philly cheese steak cigar rolls on trays around necks. Since client is a cigar aficionado and his wife had collected beautiful cigar boxes over the years, those boxes were inserted on two custom walls with guests names and a surrealistic symbol (rose, red lips, mustache, boxing glove and telephone) that identified their table segment inside the ballroom.

An over the top red fabric tunnel with black monkey chandeliers and sconces was erected for the guests formal entrance to the dining room.

When time came for the guests to move to the second phase of the dining room, they were lead by a band and upon entrance the guests jaws dropped in sheer surprise. Dining room was a visual and sensory feast.

Long Chandelier Tables had custom gold framed with red roses coming down. Tables had the flowers in deep colors bearing fruits. Black candle abras and candles added to the glamour. Each place setting was dressed with black custom made charger with the guest’s name in gold.

Stemware, flatware and most importantly the Fornesetti plates elevated the experience. Napkins which had the menu printed on, were placed on the back of each chair in a slit that was created for this event. Each course was curated to match the vibe and ambiance with content on LED walls, entertainment and lighting.

Prized wines and champagne from a private collection were served and in short guests experienced a night unlike any other.

Stay turned for details from the after party!
