Karishma & Sohail's Sangeet

I (Nikki) met with the bride to be, Karishma, in July and as cliche as it may sound, felt an immediate connection. We talked at length about her vision, vibe, colors and design. Immediately after the initial meeting, we presented the couple with a few options of layouts for Sangeet, ceremony and reception. As soon as they confirmed the floor plans we got the ball rolling with generating proposals and presenting mood boards.

Since Sangeet was taking place at Studio Sound Stage at Four Seasons Westlake which is essentially a black box with black floor and drapes, Nikki immediately thought infusing the space with deep colors. Aubergine, deep reds and with accents of gold were decided and the end result was magical. At the preliminary walk thru, Nikki also suggested bringing tents to further embellish the decor and give the room that traditional Rajasthani vibe. Tons of candles were placed around the perimeter of the room as well as tables, bars and inside the tents to create that festive glow.
Since Sangeet is a big dance and fun party and there is a lot of mingling and socializing that takes place, our couple decided to bring in street food from Mumbai which is Bride’s hometown and Hyderabad which is Groom’s hometown. There were plenty of chat pata street food items paying ode to bride’s hometown and all the Hyderabadi Nawabi food such as Kababs, Biryani and such to please all palettes. These food stalls were set up inside the four tents and the other two were dedicated to mehndi ladies and came fully decorated with ethnic low lounge furniture.

Since guests had traveled from all parts of the globe, our clients provided onsite COVID testing that went seamlessly and everyone was able to partake in the festivities without any concern or reservations. Our couple looked ravishing in their traditional outfits and came to the party with the idea of having fun and soon that infectious energy captured everyone and good time was had by all with open bar, food stalls, chai and dessert stations and mehndi. Not to forget the DJ who was instrumental in bringing high energy, connecting with the audience and elevating the event experience.

Stay tuned for more about their ceremony & reception!
