Karishma and Sohail's Ceremony

Karishma and Sohail wanted a nondenominational ceremony and Nikki was able to recommend the services of Rabbi Stevens.  Our couple met with him and felt very comfortable him performing the ceremony.  As for the ceremony structure, Karu’s vision was to have an ethereal, organic and understated look with only white flowers.  Because of Sohail’s severe allergies to fragrant flowers, non fragrant flowers were carefully chosen which included baby’s breath, non fragrant roses, hydrangeas and orchids.

It had rained a couple of days before the wedding but their wedding day turned out gorgeous with not a cloud in the sky.  The day of ceremony, a quick rehearsal of the bridal party took place.  Ceremony started sharp at 4 pm with Karu descending the grand staircase with her cousin.  As soon as she reached half way, her pre recorded song for Sohail “I get to love you” came on.  It was the most touching moment of the ceremony and to see the look on Sohail’s face was worth all the time and effort Karishma had put into this.  Our bride walked towards the aisle with her cousins under a beautiful red cover and was then accompanied by the violinists playing her special song to Sohail.  What a magical moment that was!!!!! The sound of strings and our beautiful bride with all eyes on her!!!

Couple wanted to honor both their Muslim and Hindu heritage and therefore under the mandap, two custom garlands were and a little silver box containing Sindhoor were placed. Karu and Sohail each read their vows and Rabbi Stevens performed the ceremony for his very first Hindu/Muslim couple. It was a very seamless and smooth ceremony and amidst a shower of couple rose petals and some photos with family, Karu and Sohail made their way to the suite for their second look and grand entrance at the reception as husband and wife.
